Tips To Help With Uneven Skin Tone

Do you find the skin on your face seems to look different depending on what part you are looking at? Do you see discoloration? This means you happen to have an uneven skin tone, which can be the result of any number of things. Whether it is because of blemishes, sun damage, or something else, the good news is you have a number of strategies you can implement to help with your uneven skin tone. Ready to embrace beautiful skin? Here are the tips you need:

Sometimes all you need to do to help even your skin tone is get rid of some of the dead skin cells sticking around on your face. The easiest (and cheapest) way to do this is to purchase an exfoliating cleanser at your local drug store. This helps remove the dead skin cells and reveal the glowing skin underneath. The exact instructions regarding how often you should exfoliate depend on the specific product—thus, read the direction carefully for the best results with your uneven skin tone.

Skin Toner

Toner provides yet another way to help ensure your skin is clean at the end of each day. Beyond the cleaning it gives, toners can help shrink your pores and reduce the appearance of blemishes, which (if they go unchecked) can mean uneven skin. Look for a toner formulated for your skin type and targeted to a specific cause of uneven skin tone, if possible.

Covering It Up

Of course, you can always try to cover up the uneven parts of your skin. The various products you can use for this are concealer, foundation, and compact powder. We recommend, should you choose this route, to pay attention to the products and their instructions. We would also recommend using a full face of makeup for the best results, because unless the product is an exact match you will need to blend, and applying on your whole faced makes this easier.

Sun Protection

The only way to truly prevent the sun from damaging your skin, short of never venturing outside your home and always keeping your curtains drawn, is to always wear sunscreen, whether or not it is actually sunny outside. Pick a sunscreen with an SPF content of at least 30 and apply it all over your body before you leave the house for the day. Some all-over sunscreens are too heavy or oily for the face. You can buy brands specifically making a facial sunscreen, however, so all is not lost.  It might not stop what sun damage has already been done, but it will definitely make sure it does not get worse.
