Reform Party of Pennsylvania Joins Independence Party of America

The Reform Party of Pennsylvania State Committee Members from across the Commonwealth battled the ice storm which coated south central Pennsylvania to meet in Carlisle on Sunday. The meeting was a turning point in Pennsylvania politics.

By unanimous votes the State Committee decided:

  1. The Reform Party of Pennsylvania will formally affiliate with the Independence Party of America and fully participate in establishing the party structure, platform and nominating process.
  2. As an Affiliate, the Reform Party of Pennsylvania will contract with the Independence Party of America to provide ballot access in Pennsylvania for the yet to be selected 2008 Presidential Nominee of the Independence Party of America.

These actions will once again bring the Reform Party of Pennsylvania to the national stage as the effort is re-established to build a national political party which will represents those voters who feel abandoned by both the Republican and Democratic Parties.

In taking this action, the Reform Party of Pennsylvania reunites itself with the Independence Party of New York and the Independence Party of Minnesota, the two most active and successful new state party organizations in the United States. The Reform Party of Pennsylvania had originally joined with these two state parties and others to form the Patriot Party following the 1992 Presidential Election.
