Running As a Reform Party Candidate

Under the current election code in PA, anyone not registered as a member of the Democrat or Republican Party is eligible to run as a Reform Party candidate. Anyone registered to one of those two parties who wishes to seek the Reform Party nomination for any office needs to change party registration no later than the Primary Election voter registration deadline. In 2008, that date is March 24th.

If you would like to run as a Reform Party candidate, please contact Chairman Chris Hollenden for details. You will need the endorsement of the State Committee, and will then need to circulate petitions between March 8th and August 1st to gain a spot on the November ballot.

CANDIDATE'S CODE OF CONDUCT

As a candidate seeking the endorsement of the Reform Party, I agree to be bound by the following Code of Conduct and I understand that in the event the Reform Party finds that I have knowingly violated any of the provisions of the Code of Conduct, I may forfeit the endorsement of the Party, and thereby, the right to circulate Nomination Papers as a Reform Party Candidate.

  1. A Reform Party candidate shall conduct his or her campaign in a manner consistent with fair play and honesty and, when referencing opponents' positions or conduct relevant to their qualifications for office, shall ensure that statements are truthfully and fairly expressed.
  2. A Reform Party candidate shall publicly endorse, support and comply with the Rules of the Reform Party and the Reform Party's Statement of Principles.
  3. A Reform Party candidate shall not accept money or other items of value from any foreign agent.
  4. A Reform Party candidate shall strive to discuss campaign issues in clear, understandable and positive terms and shall, when discussing such issues, clearly identify the differences, if any, between personal positions and those of the Party.
  5. A Reform Party candidate shall not knowingly violate any campaign, election or campaign finance law or regulation.
  6. A Reform Party candidate shall at all times conduct himself or herself in a manner which will reflect positively upon the Reform Party and its Principles.
